Hi everyone,

I had a busy day today. The techs and I put on a technology workshop for the substitute teachers this morning and then I took the techs out for lunch. Things went really well. We were completely prepared and I could see that they really did need help with the things that we taught them this morning. After lunch I went to a school to help a librarian and then I spent the rest of the afternoon at my office. I actually went down for tea this afternoon during our coffee break. I wrapped up the day with a trip to my hairdresser to get my hair trimmed and told her all about my new car!

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend but I sure hope to get some stuff done.

Hi Boston, I'm sorry you've been feeling down. Did talking to your boys improve things? I think your younger son is likely better off to leave college while he thinks about what he wants to do rather than stay and have his GPA drop due to lack of interest. He sounds eager to get on with the next stage of his life. It will be nice for you to have both boys establishing themselves. I can't say that things are going at all well with food but at least I'm not bingeing. I really need to cook this weekend so I have healthy choices for next week. I am not particularly excited about Christmas but it will be nice to visit my children.

Hi Annie, I had forgotten that you were feeling close to retiring. My friend who is planning to retire in December is sure looking forward to it. My friend who was unsure about retirement in the spring and then had a blocked artery and needed a stent is really enjoying it and she and her husband are going to Texas in the winter for a month. On the other hand she says that financially it is tight for them but they pick up odd jobs which helps. She doesn't want to sub though. Her husband's health hasn't been the greatest and he wanted her to retire. She is looking forward to helping her kids with some babysitting. My other retired friends are managing quite happily. I still have several years before retirement but I wish I could join my friends in their retirement activities.

Hi Karrie, I don't know about putting the phone in the fridge but I do need to ignore my email when I'm at home because I am beginning to worry about the effect all this work stress and long hours are having on my health and weight. I am feeling pretty determined to wean myself off these crazy habits and hours and really focus on my personal life when I am not at the office. I am going to be one of those crazy people who are totally lost when I retire if I don't smarten up. If I live that long! I hope that you have a good weekend Karrie. I must admit that I realize I am dealing with a lot of anxiety although I never used to recognize what that anxious, jittery feeling was. I find it gets really bad as the evening goes on and I get close to bed time and it makes for some late nights and poor sleeps.

Have a good evening everyone.

We CAN do this!

Cheryl
