Hi everyone,

I went rushing out the door this morning and I just got home at 8pm so this is my first chance to post today.  I thought that I had posted yesterday but I guess that I did that in the morning.  My day went fine but my sister's idea of a light meal was actually extremely high calorie since there were a number of salads and they were mostly carbs and fats.  Still we all had a good visit and it was a lovely day.  I was so tired this morning that I dozed off after my alarm and just had enough time to shower, etc. and leave for work without my walk.  We have a staff meeting every Monday morning to review our schedules for the week.  It's going to be quite the week.  I had scheduled presentations from the proposers that we short listed for our big project and that took us right into the noon hour so my boss, our consultant and I went out for lunch.  I had to rush to try and get some work done and then I left at 3:30pm to play golf with the high school staff for their wind up.  It isn't looking too good for me because I have eaten lunch and dinner out for three days in a row now and it's my regular Ladies League golf game and then dinner at the club house tomorrow and Wednesday I'm taking my staff out for lunch.  I guess there really never is a good time to get back on track.  I am feeling a lot of fluid retention in my feet, likely because I've worn sandals the last three days, but I was down almost 6 lbs before I ate all these meals out so I hope that I will be at least down some tomorrow morning.  I'm not bingeing and I'm not feeling like there's no point in trying to eat healthy or exercise.  In fact I'm feeling pretty positive about how it's going even though it hasn't been perfect (I had a cooler while golfing (and turned down two more) and I had dessert on the weekend.)  My first goal was to get on track with my eating and to quit bingeing and I've done that so I'm just going to keep moving forward and not worry about how many pounds I go down each week.  At least it's going down not up and I was able to wear my size 18 dress pants today and I nice top and sweater set plus sandals for my meeting this morning and dress appropriately on the weekend so I am feeling good about myself right now.  It's ridiculous how you can go from bingeing and utter despair to feeling happy and satisfied with yourself after just one week of working on healthy habits.

Hi Sheryln,  It's nice to see you hear again.  This is definitely the place to be after regaining your weight and both Julie and I can seriously testify to that. smiley: tongue  I'm glad to see you again.

Hi Karrie,  You'll sure be glad to start your vacation and leave the work drama behind you.  I can only imagine how happy your nephew and his wife are to have their son home and healthy.  I think it's lovely that you and your dh were able to work in the garden with your dad.  I remember your stories of how much your dear father enjoyed his garden and how he had plenty from the garden to share with others.  These will be memories that you will treasure years from now.

Hi Kathlleen, I'm another person who will stay awake stressing over my bad eating and feeling guilty and beating myself up so the last week of peace of mind have been an absolute blessing to me.  I'm glad that you had a good sleep.  Good luck with running this week.  I'm glad that you're feeling in control and on track again.  It sure feels a lot better than the other way.  I did roast beets and I just tossed them with Balsamic Vinegar, EVOO, and herbs/spice and my other veggies (red onion, carrots, Brussel Sprouts, rutabaga).  Yum.  Now I want roasted veggies.  They did dye the other veggies a bit but I didn't care.  They're quite dense so they take the full time to roast.  Your garden is much further along than mine.

Hi Julie,  I bet you had a great weekend.  Enjoy your time off with Pat.  Take pictures of your yard when you get finished.

Hi Annie,  Those were lovely pictures of the doilies that you crocheted.  I like to do that kind of thing too and I did make a few doilies.  They're really addictive to make and I used to subscribe to a magazine called Crochet.  I prefer crocheting afghans to knitting them because it's just so much quicker.  Your hot tub hour with your dh sounds absolutely lovely.  What a great way to start the day.  I hope everything goes well for your dad.  A happy belated birthday to you Annie.  I'm glad that you had such a nice celebration.  You are so right about it being easier to stay on track than it is to get back on track.  I REALLY want to stick with this.  I am so sick of getting off to a grand start and then crashing.

It is so cold here today that I am wearing my winter housecoat and my feet are freezing.  I have a comforter on my bed but I think I'm going to have to put a quilt on too.  I hate thinking that after tomorrow the days start getting shorter again.  I'm still waiting for a stretch of long hot weather.  My goal for tomorrow is to walk before work and to make the best choice I can when I have dinner at the golf course.

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

We CAN do this!

Cheryl
